DR. HEATHER M. EHINGER, LMFT
I have been curious about relationships from early on. I received an undergraduate degree in psychology from Denison University in the early '80s, had my family and then pursued my profession during my 40s, graduating from Fairfield University and becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In my early 50s, I completed my education with a Doctorate in Counseling Education and Supervision. Throughout my career, I remained loyal to the subject of how we “do” relationships and how we can heal them. I am armed not only with my education but with experience from my own life as a once wife, a proud mother of 3 and my own journey through divorce and re-partnering. I know first hand how challenging life can be, sometimes how scary and often how frustrating.
During the last 15 years, I have counseled thousands of couples, families, and individuals in their matters of the heart. I have a passion for improving the lives of my clients and their families, always seeking new ideas and methods for improving myself as a professional and a person. My professional membership, including The American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, The American Counseling Association, The International Family Therapy Association, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, provide me with a wide breadth of opportunities for learning, leading and growing for the ultimate purpose of improving your outcomes.
My passion for professional self-improvement has propelled me towards leadership in my field. I am an AAMFT approved supervisor, providing me opportunity to not only treat clients but teach others coming up behind me. I have participated in my professional organization through leadership roles including my term as President of the Connecticut Division of AAMFT. I have periodically been an adjunct professor at a local university.
My latest projects include creating The MacLetchie Institute for training which provides supervision and educational opportunities for advanced clinical training of systemically minded professionals. My upcoming book about relationship and divorce, Grounds for Divorce, A Wake-up Call, came about as a result of hearing countless stories of marriage and witnessing profound family trauma around divorce. I live in Westport Connecticut with my partner and co-conspirator, Jim Cosby. Together we work, travel far and wide visiting our 7 children and promoting better connections as one means to bring more joy to the world.
ANDREW FABIAN, LMFT
As a Family Therapist, my treatment approach is informed by my understanding of individuals within the context of their interactions with others. While I am trained to work with individuals, couples and families, I specialize in working with children, teens and young adults, especially boys and young men, to resolve a wide variety of challenges including emotional disturbances, hyper-activity and inattention, addiction, launching, school difficulties and low self-esteem. I have extensive experience working with individuals and families in high-conflict situations, including the process of divorce and it's aftermath.
My approach to therapy is heart-centered, collaborative, solution-focused and oriented to the present moment. I am passionate about helping people to transcend the mind's projections of fear so that they may return to their natural state of knowing how to intuitively connect with others through the heart.
Together, we will find solutions to whatever blocks you from living through the heart in order to uncover your true magnificence. I meet every one of my clients with a deep sense of care and give them my complete attention.
I trust in life and in the universe to bring to me those people who are ready for transformation. I know that every human encounter is sacred and in the greatest and highest good of everyone involved. If my approach resonates with you, please feel free to contact me. I would be honored to meet you.
ELIZABETH CROSSFIELD, LMFT
Elizabeth is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Working together with adults, adolescents and children, she finds adaptive solutions to personal challenges. She believes that psychotherapy can transform the quality of a person’s life. Elizabeth creates a supportive environment where individuals and families are free to examine unhealthy patterns of behavior, set goals and move toward desired change.
Elizabeth encourages her clients to find untapped resilience and uses tools such as solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and narrative theories to increase emotional intelligence and develop coping skills to better handle powerful emotions. Together with her clients, she explores ways to foster healthy connections with peers, family and community.
Elizabeth specializes in the therapeutic mentoring of girls. The life of a teen girl is complex as they face issues of self-worth, peer pressure, bullying, academic stress, sexual orientation and social media overload. These stressors can cause anxiety, depression, and emotional imbalance which affects the family as a whole. Elizabeth believes that the teen years can also be a time of positive growth for both parents and children. She is sure that when a young person’s talents are embraced, the avenues of possibility are endless.
Elizabeth and her husband Andrew have raised two daughters and live in Westport, CT. She has a little bit of a jewelry obsession and is now finally taking classes to learn how to make it. She cannot get enough of travel and recently had the privilege of teaching at an all-girls boarding school in Tanzania.
BETHANY BRYANT, LMFT
For thirty years my therapy practice has been devoted to finding unique and creative solutions for the difficult challenges that life presents. My background as a dancer led me to extensive training in Body-Centered Psychotherapy, Gestalt Therapy and later on, Systemic Family Constellations. These experiences taught me how and where emotions get stored in the body and how to move through them to greater freedom. Now, as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, this ability to “Read the Body”, along with an understanding of where my clients are blocked both emotionally and physically, has enhanced the work I do.
I help people embody the changes they want to make.Together, we design a treatment plan that works with your strengths and your specific way of learning, leading to confidence, clarity and authenticity. I also value humor and playfulness as an integral part of the therapeutic process.
I currently lead monthly workshops in Family Systemic Constellations, a psychological and spiritual process that heals the effects of trauma from past generations carried down to the present. Systemic Constellations is unique in that we utilize the field of energy. When we work with the field, it leads to a deeper level of experiencing and knowing. Listening and learning this way offers you a different way of viewing your life and the world around you.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, life transitions, personal growth, physical pain and illness, phobias, PTSD and trauma.

“I believe in the importance of prioritizing emotional and mental health in life and relationships. When you give yourself and your family this gift, you will discover that life will not go “back to normal”. Instead, you will propel yourself into a new way of looking at things, in which the problem you are facing becomes a building block, an asset rather than a burden, and a piece of the puzzle in the wiser version of yourself that you are becoming.”
Elizabeth is experienced in working with individuals and families dealing with anxiety, chronic illness, cancer, addiction, eating disorders, financial stress and grief. Elizabeth is LGBTQ affirmative and works from a foundation of social justice and equality.
