Rebecca Ruitto, LMFT
Rebecca is a licensed marriage and family therapist, who uses a systemic view to work with individuals, couples, and families. She enjoys working collaboratively with clients navigating tough life challenges.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Connecticut with her Bachelors in Psychology and Human Development & Family Studies. She returned to UCONN to complete her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Rebecca began her clinical work with children and their families at Wheeler Clinic, in Connecticut. Her experience in the Bristol public school systems gives her knowledge and experience in helping children face the many stressors related to school, including peer relationships, behavioral difficulties, and ADHD.
Rebecca is committed to helping clients of all ages manage anxiety, depression, and trauma. She has been training in many evidence-based models, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with anxiety, depression, trauma or conduct problems (MATCH). Rebecca is knowledgeable in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills (DBT informed) to help clients gain control over their emotions and improve their relationships with others.
In addition to her work with children and families, Rebecca works with couples managing their relationships. In particular, Rebecca is passionate about couples approaching marriage and creating strong, lasting strategies for improving communication and conflict resolution skills.
Rebecca believes that she becomes a team with her clients; working towards improving one’s ability to cope with life’s stressors and channeling clients inner strengths to obtain the life they are searching for.
